Outstanding education at the heart of the community

Year 10 Work Experience and Local Community Projects

Congratulations to all students who completed their Work Experience over the course of last week. We are very proud and grateful for the feedback we have received from many of the employers who were kind enough to offer placements to our students.

We had a small number of students who remained in school and they spent the week planning and delivering a number of projects to support our local community.

We are very grateful to members of the University of the Third Age (U3A), Hesketh Bank, who gave our students the opportunity to join them for one of their meetings as well as the chance to actively engage in helping with jobs around their Community Centre.

The second project was offered through the 'Friends of Becconsall Old Church'. The students were given the chance to involve themselves in a number of different tasks from cleaning, tidying, planting flower pots or establishing a new hedge at the church. These jobs could not have been done without the support of both Sooty’s Plants and Blundells Nurseries in Tarleton.

The whole experience was a very positive one and we hope to do this again in the near future.
