Dance

The dance department aims to provide all pupils with the opportunity to develop their performance and choreography skills and to become analytical in their approach towards the subject. We seek to provide a secure environment where pupils can improve their self-confidence and gain a sense of pride.

Dance is delivered to all pupils in year 7, 8 and 9 throughan exciting and variedseven week unit. Pupils can opt to study the subject further in year 9, in doing so they willtake part intwo lessons of dance per week. In these lessons pupils undertake twopractical dance assignments aswell as completing the level one award in dance leadership. Dance GCSE is offered to pupils in year 10.

The dance department also offers a wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities, including dance clubs, festivals and a very successful end of year dance extravaganza which brings together seven of local primary schools working alongside Tarleton pupils and staff.
