Outstanding education at the heart of the community

Our Community

The students and staff at Tarleton Academy are proud to be part of our school community; each year we work together to integrate the school within the local community as well as the national and global communities.

We aim to offer activities and facilities to many people from all walks of life and intend to incorporate the school into all three levels community, local, national and global.

This year, we want to be even better at supporting our school community, our local community and the wider community. We believe that by doing so, we will have a better understanding of the world around us, whilst developing our own self-esteem and sense of social responsibility.

Tarleton Academy is fortunate in being supported by International Aid Trust, and our relationship with this charity provides the opportunity to reach out to communities in need.

Our students are always ready to help in whatever way they can, and we are currently planning fundraisers for this school year.

Here’s what we’ve done so far:

Tarleton Academy in the Press

At Tarleton Academy we have strong links with the local newspapers. We are regularly featured in the Lancashire Evening Post, Southport Visitor, Ormskirk Advertiser and The Champion. We want the local community to feel involved and included with life in the school and through the newspapers we aim to inform you of all the wonderful events that take place in our school.

Keep your eyes peeled for the latest news.

Charity Events

At Tarleton Academy we work closely with our school charity, International Aid Trust as well as other causes throughout the year. Some of the charity events that will be taking place this year include,

  • Wear Pink for Tickled Pink in October for Breast Cancer Awareness
  • Children in Need Day in November
  • Christmas Shoe Box Appeal for International Aid Trust.

WOW Day

As part of Wonderful Opportunities Week Tarleton Academy opened their doors to the public to exhibit the wonderful opportunities students are offered at here. This event was a huge success and parents and locals who visited the school were amazed at the events and opportunities that are on offer in the school. The annual event takes place in July and after the success of last year will be taking place in July 2012.
