It is the week before Christmas Day, 1957, and a young girl has just stumbled upon an injured man hiding in her family's barn. Believing him to be Jesus Christ, returned, and fearful of Jesus' fate 'last time', the girl confides in her brother and sister, swearing them to secrecy. However, their secret does not stay one for very long and soon every child in the village wants to meet the mysterious stranger. At the same time, the adults, fearful of a dangerous criminal on the loose in the area, begin a manhunt, and so two worlds are destined to collide.

Addressing theme such as the power of belief, childhood innocence, grief and loss, 'Whistle Down the Wind' is a thought-provoking drama filled with hauntingly beautiful songs.
